Samuel’s practice focuses on criminal defense, including DUI and other criminal matters, along with real estate related transactional matters. Samuel works and resides in Colorado Springs and heads up the Southern branch of the firm.
After graduating from the University of Iowa Law School in 2005 he worked for two years doing real estate related transactional work for a large, Denver based national law firm. He then left the firm to work as a deputy district attorney in the 18th Judicial District. While there he tried every level of criminal case, from petty offenses to driving under the influence cases to first degree homicide. He finished his career with the district attorney’s office as a senior deputy district attorney and was entrusted with the role of evaluating and deciding whether to pursue felony level cases submitted by law enforcement.
During his time as a district attorney, Samuel gained extensive courtroom and negotiating experience. He also authored articles about important topics in criminal law, presented a host of trainings to law enforcement and the community, and served as a member of the 18th Judicial District’s Brady Letter/Rule 16 Committee.
